A celebratory event was held in Hammersmith, London on 28 July to mark the achievements of three ESF projects run by the Third Age Foundation (TAF) – a voluntary organisation set up to help people aged 40 and over back into work.
About 60 ESF participants received ICT and other certificates from representatives of London ESF Co-financing Organisations. Jean Lambert MEP also gave a short talk about her role and the work of the European Parliament.
As well as helping participants gain ICT qualifications up to Level 2, the projects have provided a range of other learning including confidence, motivation, self-employment and management modules, plus support with the development of CVs, interview techniques, action plans and job search.
TAF’s new ESF project, ‘FORCE 50+’, to help 85 economically inactive ex-carers aged 50 and over to improve their employability and move into work will start on 22 September 2008. Phone Sylvia or Sally on 020 8748 9898 for further information.
